Case Study Houses: A Field Guide

For my graphic design thesis, I created a compact field guide to the Case Study Houses, a midcentury architectural program that produced dozens of designs for affordable, reproducible modern homes. I used the black-and-white photography from the original magazine publications, as well as writing my own descriptions of each design.

The type choices are meant to translate the geometric sensibility of the original magazines into the 21st century. The single bright accent color gives great flexibility to the design without overpowering the stark contrast of the grayscale images. Click here to read the whole thing.
